Pianist Randy Weston, an NEA Jazz Master, died on Saturday September 1 in his longtime Brooklyn home at the age of 92. He’ll be missed be many in the community, especially in the New York City area, where he was also a fixture at Pan-African events.

Weston’s family has released details on the wake and public funeral service, which are as follows:

The wake will be at the Frank Bell Funeral Home at 536 Sterling Place in Brooklyn on Sunday September 9. Visitation is from 1-7 PM with a service from 4-7.

The funeral will be at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine at 1047 Amsterdam Ave. (at 112 St.) in Manhattan on Monday September 10. Viewing is from 3-4 PM with a service from 4-7.
